Fortunately, this does not apply to MP3 products. This error can occur after downloading WMA or WMV files.

If you used a code to download the product, please enter the code that you used to obtain that song.
If you did not use a code or do not remember it, try typing in your username and password if one was entered at download.

You may also want to upgrade your music player.

If you are still unable to play your file, it is likely that the license has been lost or was never properly received. Unfortunately, once licenses have been lost, there's nothing we can do on our end to allow these songs to play. The only suggestion we can offer is to contact Microsoft customer support at www.microsoft.com as they may have some system specific instructions on how to recover a license or at least back them up to prevent this from happening in the future.

We recommend always backing up your files and licenses. For information on how to do this, please visit: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/265473.
If you have backed up your files, you may be able to recover them.
